Spanish artist, Daniel Vendrell Oduber (“Vandrell”) is an artist that specialises in realistic/comic illustrations. He is also very adept at 80′s style illustrations, manga and pin-up. He has a vast portfolio of amazing work ranging from comic fan art, to a series on retro gaming as well some amazing pieces on mythical creatures.
His subjects are illustrated with intensely beautiful detail. They are realistic but still retain a certain dreamy quality.
When looking through Vandrell’s portfolio of work I was particularly drawn to his Cammy artwork. Illustrated in the style of a 50′s pin-up model and surrounded by airplanes, it is a piece that his hard to look away from. Cammy looks striking against this retro backdrop and his attention to detail is evident in everything from her outfit to the aircraft. I think it is an awesome re-imagining of a classic gaming character.
